I was fortunate enough to take a class with Daniel Schutzsmith as the instructor (SVA Continuing Ed). He has some great insights involving the business behind design, whether its running a studio, or conducting freelance business. Most designers/freelancers have to learn business along the way and it can be extremely difficult, because as creative people we typically don't think the same way business oriented people do. I think one of the awesome things about the changing landscape (and Daniel is a perfect example) is that businesses are starting to call on more creative thinking to solve traditional business problems. I think in the future we will continue to see creative thinkers called upon for things they would have never imagined 10 years ago.
