Most of the "theft" examples are clearly not at all related. C'mon, there's only so many shapes that are immediately recognizable to the human mind...and a lot of the examples are ideas that go way back before the examples giving of stolen ideas. They're time-tested ideas that have been around for generations, and sometimes given a new twist. Nobody is going to confuse the Sun logo for the Columbia logo. And, besides, the Sun logo is better than the Columbia logo.
The only one that is clearly "theft" to me is the Quark vs. Scottish Council for the Arts or whatever. It worked better for Quark, but it was clearly a purloined logo and they did the right thing by changing it.
