When working with landscapes, there are quite a few things that need too be understood. First, the lighting should be perfect, for example when taking the picture if most landscape is in sunlight but there is a small black portion due to shadow then that would easily be a waste photograph. Try to include as vast landscape as possible. When clicking a landscape photograph, also look at what foreground you will be focusing on.
