The icons that designers use for their portfolios are usually the ones for home, gallery/work, about/resume, shop, if there is a case for one, and contact. I've taken high quality individual icons for these categories from various icons sites and put them here for you to find them easier. I have also added at the end of the article icon packs that would prove themselves useful. The icons are free to download but make sure you check their licenses.
