Have you ever thought of new unconventional promotional techniques? You should never underestimate the power of various promotion techniques in your marketing plan or a strategy. There are tons of social networks out there, we’re sure you’ve been trying to take advantage of some of them – some did good, some not, that’s a whole different story.
What is a Featured Entry?
Today we’re going to tell you how you can really take advantage of high-quality social media promotion. It’s going to be about our Featured entry advertising option, which appears on top of all DesignFloat listings as well as on top of designFloat blog, and looks like a top content voted by DesignFloat audience but is in fact a relevant link placed on a daily paid basis.
Design Blog Experience
Based on the experience of one of our previous advertisers, we’ve made a small case study about this Featured Entry advertising option and we are about to share some interesting facts and stats about this. Template Monster Blog was one of the first advertisers that became interested in a “Featured Entry” option, so when their promotion was done, we’ve asked them to give a feedback and they have kindly agreed to share some of the stats concerning their promotional experience with our website.
That time we have been featuring the blog post from Template Monster blog about their Free Facebook Template. It was a really interesting giveaway promo, everybody loves freebies and the product itself was really nice, which is why TemplateMonster was counting on pretty good results.
After 24 hours that TemplateMonster blog link was present on top of all DesignFloat listings, the featured entry has sent 412 visits to TemplateMonster. That’s a lot, for a $20 price – this means the CPC was $0.05, which is an unbelievably low price for a good targeted traffic.
Obviously TemplateMonster was very happy about this first experience of working with featured entry, so we weren’t surprised when they said they wanted to advertise other types of content with this option. Another example from Template Monster Blog was their research article about the “Above the Fold Concept”, it was also featured on top of DesignFloat listings for 24 hours. This entry has received 392 visits from DesignFloat and DesignFloat blog, the CPC in this case was about the same – $0,06.
Of course, everything depends on the quality of content – some advertisers have generated more clicks with a better content, some got less than TemplateMonster. So everything depends on what you’re promoting.
Speaking of traffic quality, this is not just any leads we’re talking about here. Traffic can be of different kinds and the traffic referred by the featured entry is pretty much unique – first of all because the featured entry doesn’t look like advertisement, it’s rather something that looks like an organic content, a top story voted by the audience; this in turn means it’s a very trusted content. The further featured link visitor’s behavior on TemplateMonster blog once again proves that – 3.21 pages per visit and 4 min 24 seconds average stay. That’s about twice as good as the leads from ordinary ad banners available for purchase anywhere on the net.
Pretty impressive, huh? Depending on what the promoted content is, the featured entry may generate around 300 leads, or more if the content is really interesting or if the offer is of high value. Everything depends on what you’re offering.

If you are interested in placing your content as featured entry at our website, please feel free to contact us and we would love to discuss everything. Special thanks to guys from TemplateMonster Blog for allowing us to share their information about the traffic they’ve received.
But we do have certain limitations on Featured Entry placement. First, is that we only accept design-related content for promotion (otherwise it won’t be relevant and won’t receive any clicks at all). The second is that we can only accept your links for promotion for 1 to 3 days, if the links stays longer than 3 days, users start ignoring it and you will receive less clicks – and we don’t want that.
