Marketing includes plenty of concepts. Wide usage of the internet brought completely new methods and strategies. However, the essence of marketing is still communication between production and customers, and the core remains unchangeable in its natural entity. Therefore it’s not hard to outline few helpful regularities, which would definitely make your marketing better.

1. Understand the needs of your target audience.
Firstly, the target audience should be defined. The more precisely it is done, the more effective your marketing would be. The next setting: you ought to improve your empathy. If don’t know what your customer thinks and wishes, most probably the marketing activities you undertake wouldn’t have adequate results.
Remember that your customers are not stupid, they know what they want. Your duty consists in pleasantly showing the ways they can satisfy themselves. So, respect the knowledge of your target audience inner needs. And I don’t mean the feeling (for marketing it’s even better to keep mind calm and be emotionless as Buddha), I imply your attitude in communication with the customers.

2. Be aware of you product/service.
Captain Obvious recommended me to include this tip in the list. He is a little bit surprised that a significant part of marketologists make a blunder ignoring the studying of their product or service. Under “studying” I mean not only knowing all the properties, but refusal from preconceptions. Throw away the pink glasses, start perceiving the product/service as it is. Don’t be afraid to heed the negative feedback (of course, with certain portion of skepticism) – this is the first step for developing your products/service in the proper marketing way, which takes into consideration the target audience requirements.

3. Distinguish visitors from customers.
Companies often make efforts to increase the number of their advertisement viewers and gain more visitors for their website. But number is nothing without quality. The bottom line is that your marketing campaigns should attract people who will buy and pay, but not look around. Nevertheless, the treatment to the visitors should be as prepossessing as possible, because in any case they are your potential clients (still, sometimes number transforms into quality).

4. Good reputation is valuable.
Word-of-mouth marketing haven’t lost its effectiveness, mostly it just acquired new forms such as social media sharing. Always try to make a positive impression, instill confidence and then enjoy the results of advertising, which doesn’t require your participation: customers would recommend your product/service to their relatives, friends and colleagues by their own initiative.

5. Keep up innovation-conservatism balance.
Felicitous marketing literally demands fresh methods. Basically, the new opportunities would be only opened if to apply innovative course to the campaigns. Anyway, you should set apart true development and processes that just camouflage. Conservatism serves as a brake for the pseudo-progress that leads a company into the abyss. As for me, conservatism must be activated no more than necessary for that. Innovation is more important for interplay with constantly changing market.
