Break These Bad Habits for Good to Become a Better Content Manager

It’s never been easy to be a content manager. Cooperating with numerous people: clients, creative directors, marketing managers and designers can take a toll of your patience and passion. In this working process it is really important to act professionally. Still, there are hundreds of factors that could influence badly your career.

Bad Habit #1: Making your copy “good enough”.

Content managers are often under pressure so they have to write good enough texts. If the copy is of a low quality the page will be dragged down in Google results. If you write for yourself, you decide how good your copy should be, but if you are writing for a boss and he understands this principle, just good enough copy is no longer good enough. Low-quality remix is what most content writers do! They take somebody’s text that was already rewritten couple of times. You can make a high-quality copy by analyzing up to dozen sources what will help you to make an awesome text. But there are people who lack their own brain activity and as a rule they copy somebody’s works and present it as their own art. The plagiarism can be easily revealed by using special software like The Plagiarism Checker.

Bad Habit #2: Writing only for SEO.

Old habits die hard. For a long time we’ve been trying to optimize texts according to some modern SEO principles, but this is not enough. The copy should be not only optimized but also original, engaging and useful. You need to write copy that would be liked by your readers and would be gladly shared through the social medias.

Making Each Pixel Count: Unusual 8-Bit Posters by Eric Palmer

The idea of 8-bit posters’ showcase stems from the nostalgia feeling about game consoles and set-top boxes which were crazy popular in 80s-90s. The images in those computer games were built on the pixel technology and so our today’s roundup about 8-bit posters is tightly connected with the pixel art. Actually, pixel art is the special form of digital art where the image is edited on the pixel level and has low resolution and limited color scheme. One of the main peculiarities of the pixel image is the absence of anti-aliasing feature so when you are looking at the image you can see each separate pixel. But from the other side, this particular feature makes the pixel image special and well-recognizable from others.

In this collection of 8-bit posters we include great works of American designer Eric Palmer who is creating movie posters, combining pixel images with the video game illustrations from 80s. These attractive movie posters and pictures are returning us to 8-bit gaming times when the computer science just started to gather headway.

Double Exposure Photography – Reviving Vintage

Have you ever heard of double exposure technique? Well, in case you get to the end of the article you’ll able to even make such photos yourself – all you’ll need is you creativity and some luck. Double Exposure is a technique achieved by combining two images into a single one. The technique is achieved either by taking two pictures on the same frame of the film or by printing two images on the same photo paper. When used accidentally the technique can ruin the shot. When done correctly, double exposure appears on a photograph as if one image has been superimposed over another. The result can be also achieved by covering the part of the lens and taking a shot, then covering the other part of the lens and taking a shot again on the same frame. Ideal double exposure shots can be done with a camera set on a tripod though it requires a bit of compositional skills and a bit of luck with lighting.

Tip: Its incredibly simple to do this effect with older cameras. You need to take the first picture with darker background and the second with lighter.

Some modern cameras have a “double exposure” option it overlays one shot over another. As always it’s much easier to use some computer software for this purpose like Photoshop but our today’s purpose is to deliver the information on how to create this effect without using any software.
