It seems that there are certain professions where billing clients for phone calls is acceptable and even expected. I have, on several occasions, received invoices from my lawyer and my accountant for advice given over the phone. Well, I graduated from college just like they did, and I feel my time is worth just as much. I'm aware of numerous large advertising firms that will bill for phone calls, but when you own a small business it's more difficult to get away with this. If I could get away with charging for calls, I would at least feel that my days weren't a complete waste of time. In a perfect world, here are some of the calls I would love to charge for.

Outlines help us open creativity while remembering the importance of structure. Think of the outline as a foundation for your house.
Every web developer has their own style be it the way they code their CSS to how they write their javascript, but there are some standards. It is these standards that allow us to quickly and easily generate code considered generally beneficial to the client when setting the foundation for a website. These standardized tools have been developed over time since search engines began to categorize the World Wide Web as early as the 1990's. It is unfortunate for clients that they are often overlooked by web developers who either don't understand or don't realize they exist.

I never really brought the WordPress thumbnail feature to fruition until recently. Initially I assumed that WordPress utilized a codex tag allowing for the insertion of a thumbnail. Something such as wp_thumbnail would have been perfect however it doesn't exist. What I discovered was that WordPress has no easy usage or naming convention set for thumbnails. This isn't to say WordPress hasn't thought about thumbnails at all, and I don't need to bash them anymore than I already have it just doesn't seem logical from my perspective.

WordPress' wp_list_categories will add the Description to the Category name link as a title tag replacing the default "View all posts filed under CategoryName". Unfortunately we ran into this issue while building a client web site and after several hours of research into the matter and altering the core to suit our needs we at last discovered the beauty of get_categories.

Elaborately decorated formal announcements signifying the presence or visitation of royalty were distributed to the local populous, but the specifics of this period of the medium's history were not recorded and have since been lost. The trend was popular enough to arrive in France during the 17th century. These small announcements were known as "visiting cards".

For once, the magician revealed his secret: "Easy, my dear boy… Misdirection!"

People rarely understand the magic of design. Even those acknowledging its capabilities usually are not aware of how potent design is shaping our thoughts on an every day basis. Designers often point to how well they can draw attention to a product, idea, or company as examples of design's influence. However, design is often more influential not through shedding light on something, but in making it disappear.

The goal of this tutorial is to demonstrate the comparison between two WordPress Flutter Date Fields, display them and if only one date is necessary, show only the first date. This method is currently being used by Grand Idea Studio on the Events page. The issue was that some events were several days in length while others lasted only a single day. Not wanting to put the Client through the process of manually entering individual dates for each event we determined the Flutter Date Field was the perfect solution and with a little php we were able to make exceptions to event lengths.

WordPress is a great open source platform to build on and we have nothing but respect for their work but wouldn't it be nice to make a few modifications to the back end such as removing the WordPress logo from the log-in screen and dashboard and replace them with your own identity or even your Client's? There are three main locations that we will be looking at in this tutorial to really make the site your own. First we will be working on the log-in screen removing the WordPress branding and altering the link, the admin Dashboard where we will alter the smaller WordPress ghost branding and lastly we will take a look at the footer.php file to make a small change to the included links.

At the bottom of the every page on this site you will see a Social area with several social media outlets, select the Twitter link to see what we have to offer. That said, what we are interested in touching on are the avatars of Twitter and their vast diversity.
